This work is a post-performative photographic object that emerged from an artistic encounter between Beniamino and Ievgeniia. It is rooted in an intimate interview about bodily experience and identity, followed by a nude performance that unfolded in Beniamino’s dance studio, a place he perceives as home. The conditions of the action were asymmetrical and open-ended: Beniamino chose when to begin, Ievgeniia when to end, allowing duration to remain undefined.
Through radical sincerity, Beniamino performed embodiment as lived identity, while Ievgeniia assumed the role of a silent, attentive observer and documenter of being. Working within the method of post-performance proposed by Marie de Brugerolle, the artist extends the action beyond its completion, transforming it into an object that becomes art through interaction.
The installation invites viewers into the first cycle of this transformation, making them co-authors as they engage with the work, offering a perceptual encounter with the performer’s body as evidence of experience, choice, and vulnerability understood as a path toward humanity.
Interactivity:
You encounter a post-performative labyrinth that becomes art through interaction. With simple tools, you explore multiple entrances, illusory exits, and open spaces, discovering no prescribed outcome — only your own bodily and existential passage.

I had the opportunity to present my practice as part of the Art Afterworks format and during the Residency Open Door Day.
I spoke about the continuity of post-performative transformation through the example of five stages of evolution within the performance and the story “HUMAN–ART–YOU. Alice.” I also gave a preview of three land art post-performance projects involving Ukrainian artists — my colleagues — that are being prepared for presentation after my return to Ukraine.

NoCore: NewColab is an interactive and post-performative exhibition exploring healing traumas through movement, media, and embodied experience.
Visitors are guided through a series of interactive and multimedia installations that invite reflection on self-care, intimacy, and resilience in coexisting. The exhibition creates an introspective space where everyone is welcome to enter, observe, rest, listen, or play with the elements at their own pace. Rather than offering fixed narratives, the works encourage personal encounters with yourself and quiet participation.
NoCore: NewColab continues the NoCore project’s long-term exploration of identity and acceptance, shifting the focus from performance to shared presence and gentle interaction. Especially in this last version NoCore is presented as prolonging of transformation through perception.
About the artist
Ievgeniia Kupchan
Multidisciplinary artist, independent curator.
Since 2021, Ievgeniia Kupchan has been developing in Ukraine the method of post-performance introduced by French curator Marie de Brugerolle. She holds a BA from Taras Shevchenko Luhansk National University and an MA in Psychology from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Her practice was shaped by Marina Huts’ Contemporary Art course, Natalia Lisova’s Land Art School, and by directing and presenting the performance Tie for Lilia Pustovit’s retrospective collection inspired by Pavlo Makov during Ukrainian Fashion Week SS 25/26.
Working through the post-performance method, she combines photography, land art, performance, collage, interviews, essays, objects, and installations. She also works as an independent curator, developing collective and solo projects that extend her artistic practice.
Her work explores the body as a space of experience, choice, and identity, creating situations where audience interaction becomes an essential part of the artwork.
