Pontus Purokuru: Cats as Philosophers of Delay
The program for Kucku University’s festival weekend opens with a lecture within the discipline of Rest, exploring what we can learn about resting from cats.
The university’s visiting lecturer, philosopher Pontus Purokuru, takes cats—also familiar from his podcast Selitä mulle—as the subject of his lecture and proposes methods for a more lingering state of being.
During the lecture, the audience is permitted to lounge in their seats and swap their shoes for wool socks.

AGE RECOMMENDATION: No age limit, but best suited for those well-accustomed to sitting at a school desk.
ACCESSIBILITY: Kino Marilyn is wheelchair accessible through the back door, which staff will open upon request. There is a ramp and a stairlift in the courtyard, though the ramp is quite steep. Inside the theater, wheelchair users can move around freely. The cinema includes an accessible toilet.
