Kucku University’s Academic series:
LISTEN – DISCUSS- TRY
How do you rest and recover? In what ways do you calm your nervous system, and what does it lead to?
To wrap up the hustle and bustle of the festival weekend, the discipline of Rest organizes an afternoon of workshops in Kappelinpuisto Park, aimed at restoring the nervous system. The afternoon’s program is based on Kucku University’s Rest theme year workshops, where the university’s artists experimented with different ways of resting instead of constantly performing and trying to produce something new.
Bring your picnic snacks and join us to relax creatively and create relaxedly!
The program includes, among other things:
— a ceramics workshop at the City Museum (Enni Kalilainen),
— a repair workshop (Saša Nemec),
— black keys improvisation at Seurahuone (Kalle Katz),
— a children’s disco,
— living model drawing (LINEAdARIA)
— and a live installation (COVA Collective)
In addition, Heidi Lunabba’s artwork Sauna Obscura Tent Edition will be heated up in the park. Please bring a towel and swimwear for the sauna.

SAUNA OBSCURA TENT EDITION
What role does photography play in your daily life? Do you know how a camera works? Have you ever been inside a camera? If not, now is your chance.
Sauna Obscura Tent Edition is a tent sauna that simultaneously functions as a camera obscura, i.e., a pinhole camera. The surrounding landscape is projected as a live image onto the inner walls of the sauna, onto the steam, and onto the bathers’ bodies. The artwork operates at the interface between human and space, as well as the inner and outer worlds.
A camera obscura (Latin: camera = room, obscura = dark): a box or a room that is completely isolated from light. When a small hole is made in the wall, the light rays passing through it project the outside view onto the opposite wall. In Sauna Obscura, the sauna serves as the camera room, where the bather can follow the moving image of the outside world. When stepping out of the sauna, you become part of the image projected onto the sauna’s inner wall.
The sauna was designed and realized by visual artist Heidi Lunabba.
