To survive in an urban environment, you need the ability to self-reflect, invisibility, urgency, and a selfie stick.
With the help of safari guides, you will travel safely through both pollution and concrete. You can spot everything from fascinating art, architecture to dangerous human species.
Dress code: According to the traffic lights, because there are none.
The famous and beloved Fredagståget returns to the Kucku Festival!
This time, this hilarious duo has been hired as urban safari guides for Kucku University.
Expect a highly original showcase of the sights in the Kucku university town of Loviisa and the festival’s artworks – presented with profound academic expertise! …or perhaps not.
The safari walk is divided into two parts and lasts a total of 3.5 hours.
So, dress for the weather, wear good shoes, and get ready to stretch your laugh muscles after the walk.
LOCATION: Kucku University Campus Area
TIME: Sat the 19th of September from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM to 5 PM
LANGUAGES: Finnish, Swedish, English
AGE RECOMMENDATION: Suitable for walkers of all ages
ACCESSIBILITY: The route runs mainly outdoors on pedestrian paths and other flat surfaces, but it may also detour indoors. A personal assistant is recommended for wheelchair users, especially due to the hilly sections along the afternoon route.
Fredagståget is a performative collaboration between visual artist and costume designer Frida Hultcrantz (SWE) @fhultcrantz and musician and songwriter Mirella Pendolin (FI) @mirellapendolin_artist. The comedic duo has previously appeared at the Kucku Gala as security guards, in a safari performances at the Kucku Festival in 2017 and at the Eläinten asumismessut 2023. They have also facilitated workshops on identity and outsiderhood, as well as created podcasts exploring orgasms and flirting.
