When you think about ‘home’, what do you imagine? How do we carry our ‘home’ within us, and how do we find it in the places we live? What kind of a home town Loviisa is, and if it could talk, what would it tell us?
Director Vera Boitcova’s docufictional theatrical work has emerged over the past year in workshops where Loviisa residents have gathered to dream and reflect on the many different layers of the concept of home.
In this docufictional performance, local residents of Loviisa gather to dream and reflect on the many layers of ‘home’. The show is an exploration of both our inner homes – the feelings, memories, and stories we carry with us, and our outer homes – the landscapes, traditions, and connections that root us in our physical places of living.

Vera Boitcova (RUS) is a theatre director, dramaturge, artistic researcher, and queer performance artist currently completing her doctoral research at the University of the Arts Helsinki. Her work explores questions of belonging, home, and identity. Her multimedia, often participatory works have been presented across Europe, building bridges between art, research, and public dialogue.
